01
Style
Multi - Tier - For properties that are not perfectly level, one level deck is attached to your house and another level with steps that lead up or down to another flat deck area. You could have multiple levels of different sizes to suit your needs.

Attached - Attached decks are built directly off of your home. You’ll be able to open the exterior door of your home and step directly onto your deck. They’re usually a square, rectangle, U, or L shape.

Detached - If you have a large backyard, you could build a deck that’s detached from your home. This is a floating deck level that’s accessed by a path or walkway. These decks are perfect for creating usable areas on your property that have less livable space.

Wraparound - Often used around the pool area, outdoor kitchens etc…The benefit of this style deck is that it gives you plenty of usable outdoor space and is easily accessed from more than one entry point in your home.

Material Options
Wood: Cedar Pressure treated, Southern Yellow Pine (P.T)

Pressure treated wood is a great choice because it’s natural, durable, and is the most affordable option. Its downside is that it requires the most maintenance. You’ll need to clean and re-seal it.
Cedar looks and smells beautiful and is resistant to bugs. However, it is more expensive and being a softer wood it can get easily damaged.

Composite: Trex, Fiberon, Timbertech

Composite decking material is the most expensive alternative to natural wood. It’s made from a blend of plastic and wood fibers. This makes it resistant to rotting and wear but also closely resembles natural wood in appearance. You may not even be able to tell the difference when looking at first hand. You can choose the color you want and never need to stain or paint your deck. The yearly maintenance is also minimal. An occasional gentle wash and scrub are all you need. A light pressure wash will remove the mildew.
